Sea Crossing show

A fleet of vulnerable boats, suspended in space and time, are captured in the act of sailing through the gallery, towards their future, an unknown destination.

I was a contributing artist for the collaborative installation Sea Crossing at the Electro Studios in St Leonards. I made three boat hulls from old metal street cleaner bristles. You may be able to spot them in the photo.

Organised by South Coast Artists, the installation referenced international artist Hew Locke’s work, For Those in Peril on the Sea (2011) and alluded to the current refugee crisis.

Lauris Morgan-Griffiths writes about Sea Crossing in Hastings Online Times.
